AGA is seeking an individual to undertake a Parks and Gardens Apprenticeship to work with a Local Council based in Preston. The successful candidate will work full time for 3 years whilst completing a ‘Certificate III in Parks and Gardens’.  

  • Plant and transplant flowers, shrubs, trees and lawns
  • Implement plant nutrition programs
  • Maintain gardens by fertilising and trimming
  • Provide information on plants and their culture
  • Control weeds as well as plant pests, diseases and disorders
  • Contribute to work health and safety processes

Role Selection Criteria:

  • Enjoy practical and mechanical work
  • Able to undertake manual and heavy work
  • Able to work outdoors in all sorts of weather conditions


  • Drivers licence and own transport 
  • Willing to undertake a Police Check and/or Medical
  • Genuine interest in parks and gardens
  • No prior qualifications necessary

AGA Apprentices will:

  • Attend accredited RTO/TAFE training
  • Receive ongoing mentoring & support
  • Receive a weekly wage including entitlements
  • Obtain personal protective equipment
