Solar Home Workers – Mandatory Requirements

VU22744 Work safely in the solar industry will be a mandatory unit of competency for all solar workers carrying out installations in the Victorian Government’s Solar Homes program by 30 June 2021.

All workers who are involved in the installation of solar PV or solar hot water systems in the Victorian Government Solar Homes Program (typically electricians, plumbers, apprentices and trade assistants) will need to complete this unit in the 22515VIC Course in Working Safely in the Solar Industry by 30 June 2021 to continue participating in the program.

Holding a valid White Card is already a mandatory requirement for working on any solar installation, however as of 1 July 2020, it will also be a mandatory requirement for Solar Homes installation workers.
