Women in Trades

Want to build the world?

Enrol now in our Women in Trades multi-industry, pre-apprenticeship training program. There are two intakes to choose from — in February and April 2022.

Who is this training for?

This exceptional program is open to women of all ages.

School leavers, women returning to the workforce, career changers — no matter what your circumstances, there has never been a better time to forge a career in construction.

Successful applicants will learn basic skills in plumbing, electrical and carpentry to become job-ready and see first-hand what it’s like to work in that trade.

AGA will work with you to help you discover your true career vocation. We will also arrange relevant work experience in your chosen trade.

Why should you do this training?

On completion of the 8-week course, participants will have the opportunity to commence an apprenticeship in their preferred trade, which will open up a pathway to a rewarding, sought after career.

Numbers are strictly limited and positions will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Where is the training being held?

The training will take place at AGAs purpose built training centres in Deer Park and Warragul.

To register, complete the booking form below and AGA will contact you within one business day to confirm your booking and give you all the details about location, what to bring and other important info.

The Women in Trades project is an initiative of the Apprenticeship Employment Network and is supported by Apprenticeships Victoria.

Casey Holt, 29, has just completed a four-year Carpentry Apprenticeship with AGA and says the construction industry is a great career choice for women.
