AGA to deliver new program for young job seekers in NE Melbourne

AGA, part of IntoWork Australia, a national leader in employment, skills and support services, has been awarded an exciting government contract that will make a difference to young people across North Eastern Melbourne.

The Transition to Work (TtW) program taps into AGA’s significant expertise in supporting young people to complete their schooling and move into meaningful careers.

Aimed at 15-24 year olds, AGA will deliver TtW services that connect job seekers with local job opportunities and support them through pre-employment, skills development, education and training.

Another key benefit of the Transition to Work program is that it will help young people cultivate the behaviours and attitudes employers look for.

AGA CEO Nicole Broe sees the program as a perfect fit for the highly skilled AGA team. “Helping young people gain the skills and confidence to continue their education, get job ready and get a job is in our DNA,” she said.

Young people at risk of long-term unemployment will benefit from the education and training opportunities offered through the program, which commences on July 1, 2022.

Ms Broe says AGA is well positioned to help meet the demands of the sector and youth expectations. “As part of the IntoWork Group, we’ve been supporting Victorian youth since 1982 with coordinated training and personal development which meets industry needs.”

IntoWork Australia Group CEO Poul Bottern, said by awarding this contract to AGA, the Australian Government has endorsed AGA’s expertise and strong track record.

“Our team will hit the ground running,” said Mr Bottern. “Young people will have access to apprenticeships, training, education and work while employers will get job-ready staff, access to a Youth Bonus wage subsidy of up to $10,000 — and most importantly, ongoing post placement support for their new employee,” he said.

The Transition to Work program is an initiative of the Australian Government and the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE).
