Start your career while still at school
School-based apprentices and trainees (SBAT)
Get practical skills doing something you enjoy
School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT) are a terrific way to get a head-start in an industry that interests you. You can start an SBAT in Year 10, Year 11 or Year 12.
Keep learning fresh and interesting by combining:
- recognised, structured training coordinated between AGA and your school for one day each week
- practical experience in a workplace organised by AGA for one day each week, with payment on these placement days ranging from $80 to $120 per day
- ongoing attendance at your local secondary school for three days each week
- You get a nationally recognised qualification as well as gaining valuable work skills that will increase your future employment options.
Your studies may contribute to your Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL).
